Allow myself to introduce myself

We love hearing from you, so here is your chance. Introduce yourself and tell us what makes you selfsufficient 'ish'. Go on don't be shy, we welcome one and all. You can also tell us how you heard about us if you like.

Allow myself to introduce myself

Post: # 17951Post Sven »

I encountered this site whilst looking up information on dealing with rats on my allotment . . . and was pleasantly surprised to find some useful advice.

I've dreamed of becoming more self-sufficient for years, but more so as time goes on and the issues feel more crucial. I've been "greening" my lifestyle ever since visiting a "Living without cruelty" exhibition in Kensington back in 1990.

Currently I'm a sixth form geography teacher  who tries to instill green thoughts in my students every day!!

I'm looking forward to exploring this site

Hi Sven
Welcome to the site.
I live the other side of Brighton. This is my first year of growing organically (before that I was Miracle Gro Bod  ). Sorry, I won't swear on this forum again.
It's been hard work, but a lot of fun, and I've made loads of mistakes - although not as many as I would have made had I not found this site!
