I've finished it...

http://www.flickr.com/photos/skyblue1971/4298102531/

I'm so pleased with it and pleased with myself for not tossing the project aside halfway through like I usually do for the next new thaaaaang that comes along.

I promised myself this year I would not start projects I don't intend to finish and only move onto the next thing once the last project is finished.

It's taken just over a month and it is so worth the effort and time I put into it

Just the blue stripy one to finish now then onto a baby blanket which takes care of a few pink squares I had that I couldn't match the colour for new yarn so tossed them aside for later use.

I love it! Well done, it's taken me an hour to learn how to do one 4 inch granny square! I'm well impressed with it, the colours are gorgeous.

Awww thanks :D

We tried it out last night on the bed and it definitely makes it a bit warmer and it looks pretty especially as we haven't unpacked properly and things don't look quite so pretty right now in any of the rooms with all kinds of stuff stacked everywhere lol

Anyone wanting to learn to crochet really should have a go, if I can do it anyone can... the next move is to get to grips with patterns and their pattern speak which I have to admit daunts me a bit at the moment.

@ pbf... get to it lady

One of my new years resolutions that I am still keeping to is to finish all the projects I start because I usually toss it aside 5 minutes after I start it in favour of a new thing to do... it just ends up with me never feeling accomplished which eats away at the low reserves of self confidence I actually do have and makes me feel even worse.

But, not this time... I'm already 7 squares into my new blanket for the sofa downstairs lol

I have :banghead: against that brick wall for years when it comes to learning crochet. I was about to give it one last try and if i didnt suceed this time that was it! :sad11: I give in!!! But... i dunno how,i mustve had a lightbulb moment and it just clicked. I cant explain it but i just made sense of it all. Now i am crocheting away. Your blanket is an inspiration! Its just lovely.
I have lots of DK wool hanging about the house. Could i use that to crochet a similar banket? If so what needle would you suggest?

Thanks in advance,

T :thumbright:

Countrygirl - if you wade back in the thread, you'll see my squares blanket - which is in easy care DK. I used a 3.5 hook but if you use a bigger one, you'll get slightly bigger squares and the blanket will grow more quickly.

Good luck with the crocheting. It's lovely when you finally get the hang of something.

 Found it! Thank you Mrs Moustoir. Your blanket is really lovely. I like the colours and i think the smaller squares are good for me. It will definatly keep busy! :flower:
