Not in my garden but... I have seen these in a few wildish marshy places in the past few weeks but never seen them before.... so, what the heck are they?

Some sort of Arum by the looks of it although not the wild one (cuckoo pint, wake robin, lords & ladies) so almost certainly a garden escape.
Somebody will probably step in and tell you exactly which one of the hundreds of Arums it is. :study:

I'm pretty sure its what we used to call Bog Lillies although the Latin name is Calla Palustris.
The are a marginal acquatic plant.

Also known as Bog Arum. There seem to be many names both common and latin for arum plants. I have the white non bog ones in my garden that I know as Zantedeschia but they also came up as being called Calla in a google search! :iconbiggrin:
