A very pretty shrub with attractive flowers and leaves. It needs regular watering – weekly, or more often in extreme heat. Hummingbirds are attracted to the flowers.

The last week of this May has been hot and sunny. We need rain so bad that we are spitting sand. I dislike using city water at this time of year. My four barrels of 45 gallons each are dry. All I need is a smashing rain to have probably a garden show piece.

And there's me filling our water butt with the hose this morning - perverse, huh?
The more people I meet, the more I like my garden

That is sacrilege, assuming you are filling the water butt using other than rainwater.
