The Snowdonia Catalogue

Post: # 207706Post dragonoak »

Morning -ishers!

Has anyone ever ordered from "The Snowdonia Catalogue" taxidermy supplies? My first litter of rabbits should be ready soon, and as the OH is rubbing his hands together at the prospect of home-grown meat, I can't wait to get my hands on a fair few rabbt hides.

I've tried the brain tanning method- with promising results, only when we have our extra does in the spring, there is going to be times when there are just too many to do at once. The product I am interested in is http://www.snowdoniasupplies.co.uk/cgi- ... ref=CP0502 as I can re-use this several times. Has anyone ever used this product or ordered from this catalogue before? Whats is the service like? and is it value for money?

I plan on crafting many things from the end results, for example rugs and throws, maybe even the odd poncho, and hopefully making a few pennies on them (if the rabbits can pay for their own feed- that'll be great!).

Hi,

Did your order any of this in the end?
I've just salted two rabbit skins from my local butcher and am also planning to use the CP05 White Tan product so perhaps I could let you know how I get on with it. I have no experience in tanning at all so am hoping I do it right...
