Barlotta beans problem

Post: # 24188Post Peatie »

Hi

My Barlotta beans (climbing) have been OK till now, but after a couple of days of rain and some strong winds they are looking very poorly :(
They are around 20 cm and just starting to try and climb, but now most of the growing tip, leaves and leaf stems are shrivelled.

Any thoughts for this new plotter ??? :?

It could well be just wind damage - unfortunately a lot of plants like beans and peas are susceptible to that. Unless you see signs of fungal disease (some kind of deposit on the leaves), or pests eating them, I wouldn't worry too much - they should grow back ok. Some of mine got pretty mangled over the last few days, too.
