Oops! I haven't said hello yet. How rude of me!
I have just realised that I haven't said hello to you all yet. Well a bit about me. I am Cornish by birth having been born above my Grandfather's bakery in Padstow. Because of my father's (and my own) work I have moved all over England so I have no real roots. The only good things about this travel is I have got to know lots of places but and people.
I ended up with running my own Fire Consultancy in Southern England for 14 years. I am quite proud of that achievement and that I was in a position to sell the business when I decided to call it a day.
I was on a chill out break at my cousin's home in Ireland when we saw a bungalow being built and considering the most important part of home buying is, so I'm told, location, location, location in that order this was ideal. We have the view of the mountains on 2 sides green fields on another our nearest neighbour is about 200 yards away. Idealistic. All the neighbours get on very well and in fact the whole lane hires a coach and goes out to a Dinner Dance at Christmas.
We have a large garden which has always been pasture in the past so we have quite a project on our hands.
I have realised one ambition that I have had since I was a boy, Chickens.
Still learning, still lots to learn, it keeps the brain working.
Why Dr.Syn? I was a great fan of the Russell Thorndike Stories and then we lived near to the Romney Marsh.
Hope this makes up for my delay with my intro.
