Looks about right, Baz. All you have to do now is start up the motorised rabbit and open all the cages simultaneously. I'll have 20quid on the keen-looking brown one on the top row to win.

by the look of that lot, what you need is some really good feed - make sure it's well-laced with Virginiamycin, along with two or three other broad-spectrum antibiotics (it'll give everybody who eats the eggs a dose, but it'll probably do 'em good!), a nice crude chemical wormer as well, and BAGS of DPM (dried poultry manure) - then shut all the doors, and cut the fans, drive up the heat, it cuts feed consumption..............get the nice feed rep to choose the dayglo orange end of the colour fan he carries, so that those nice men in their white coats can add oodles of a wonderful chemical that makes the yolks look healthy!
Probably best to chop half their beaks off, stops them killing their neighbours!
- oh and do clear out the dead ones at least once a week, they pong a bit!
You'll soon be up there with all the other battery producers!

I thought you were serious and it certainly upset me...I've been thinking of leaving the forum anyway and your post just about finished it for me! I don't think cruelty is funny.

I find it interesting how some folks laugh first, think later...

and others think first... and sometimes laugh. :?

I think the second happens more with the written stuff, and having been at the end of some very poorly perceived (or poorly written) emails lately, I hope you can find a laugh in it, Diver. If only in the cheeky spirit this newcomer had...

Far out. You can find yourself in all sorts of strife and all the while you thought you were laughing with the other, helping, or whatever. We all have different senses of humour and when we communicate internationally and in print, I think maybe there might be a raised chance we can be misinterpreted.

What Aussie's consider funny is often not funny to the Shorts 'n' Tanks (Yanks) and one Aussie site I was on had all sorts of drama when some joined and kept taking offence to our banter. Not saying that Baz is an Aussie... just saying codes of conduct are a bit different across the nations, and I try to remember that.

Emoticons don't always help either... I used a tongue poking emoticon to convey a joke with my father in law about 6 years ago and he hasn't spoken to me since!

Why have you been thinking of leaving Diver? What else offends you? If I have offended you, I would be only too happy to extend the hand of mateship and we can 'get back to business' and share some of our sufficiency goals/progress whatever.

Speaking of cruelty...throwing in a pic of Freda the free range chook. This is how hard they work in Canberra to remind people to speak with their pens...
