Post: # 25252Post WitchypooNo2 »

Just had to share. We are currently under a hose pipe ban (clever Thames water) But at the moment out lawn is recieving a well needed sprinkle from our sprinkler. How??? I hear you shout (well I don;t but heigh ho) We are pumping our bath water (and dear goddess was it grey after the day we had in the garden) down from the bathroom and on to the lawn! HOW COOL IS THAT!!!!! we are both very excited!!! small things eh!

Well just thought I'd share hurrah for grey water now if only our leccy was cleaner....hmmmm it'll come

This is my second year of using bath water for the garden. Hoping to put in a divertor this year so when butt is full I can fill other pots I have too with out having to pull out hose every time.

Keep up the good work.

Very impressive.

Believe it or not, using greywater has only just become legal in Brisbane, Australia - a few weeks before the general hosepipe ban!

The mind boggles ...

Yep, yep, yep!

We've been using it for years, but only recently legally!

My washing machine goes straight into a butt by the back door, and I use that water for the pumpkins and courgettew; the beds by the back door have benefited enormously from it, and looking good. I only use home made powder and the occasional Ecover, so no nasties from them int the water - stuff seems to be thriving. Maybe it's what comes off the clothes, then    Talk about grey water.........

If it's anything like mine it'll only be dirt from the garden going back into it!

Just bought a bowl for my sink today so that I can reuse my dish water/rinsing off my apple water. Am I that little bit closer to being a good girl?

We have water butt in our back garden and as you would expect it doesn't collect alot of water, so with this in mind i'm looking into putting a new down pipe on our guttering where rain water overflows when heavy, this could feed straight into a butt and collect a whole roofs worth of water.

Just got to conquer my fear of height on ladders now
