Hello from Aberdeenshire

Post: # 30006Post p999j »

Hi all,
I feel a bit of a fraud, as I am not self sufficient, but would love to be. I grow a lot of my own vegetables and I am vegetarian.
I don't have enough space or time for hens but if I ever move to a more rural property, would get them.
Just wanted to say hello!

well i got my first lot of tatties in and got some broad beans off and stuck em in the freezer after part boiling them (flash in boiling water and out again).
My hubby works for a lorry firm and comes home with lots n lots of wood....2x2, 4x4, sheets of the stuff and bits...the 2x2 and 4x4 and sheet stuff get's made into stuff for the hens, Rabbits and house, the bits do for the fire....all this comes free, he also gets plastic sheeting of which we made a greenhouse out of along with some of the 4x4 wood and old pallets.
I love doing stuff with wood...this is my fag break so thought i'd pop indoors and give my drill a rest (i'm now making a bigger rabbit run for our 2 rabbits to play in, yesterday i made 4 planters for next years plants.
oh well best get back out to the garden and finish the run off.
Byeee for now

Welcome to all fellow Aberdeenshironians (or something like that  )

Tracy, I think if we'd put all the stuff together that we can get free from work, we'd probably be able to build up everything we need for a fully functional smallholding! We've got 5 spare doors (very heavy, but a bit rotten one end), that I want to convert into a goat shelter...

Lots of Aberdeenshironians indeed!
I may be known to some of you as other names. Pumpkinpie or Pauline.
I am getting confused by all my pseudonyms!
Cheers!
