Positive Staple Action

2 weeks ago i started the Staple Action Plan for my office.

I put an empty coke can on my desk with a sticker on it saying 'staple collection'. I then went away for 10 days. The can't half full already.

There were bets taken originally on how long it would take to fill the can. Some said 3 months, some said 6. 3 months was the shortest time guessed. it looks like it'll be filled in a month.

After its full, i'm going to weigh it and try to work out how many staples are in it. Then i'm going to take it to the tip and give it to the scrap metal people.

I will keep you all updated on the staple can!

We;re going to try to work out how many are in there are the end of the experiment. Might have ot enlist Muddy's clever clever brain when the time comes!!

How about finding the weight of one staple then weighing all of them. Divide the overall weight by the one staple and you will have your number.

Will scrap metal people take a bunch of staples?

I was wondering about selling the can for scrap, but i figured that i'd only get enough money to buy a pakcet of crisps to go round...

The main point of the staple can was to show how many staples we needlessly waste in the office! I've noticed that the bits of paper i get on my desk that are usually stapled together are starting to be paperclipped together instead...

Have you see these 'staplers' that actually just fold the paper in on itself - so you aren't using any metal at all?
