E-petition for allotments

If you know of a way to help save our planet, even just a small part of it put it here. Also if you want to ask how to help, or even if you want to promote your environmental organisation. All goes here.

Post: # 41727Post pskipper »

Can I urge people to sign this. I know that the West Wiltshire area at the very least has over 300 people on the waiting list!

Thanks

Philip

Signed, plus I've linked to it from a piece I did on my blog about the value of allotments. I'll add a new blog entry later today or tomorrow going into more detail.

the allotment round the corner from us was being "done up" and we put our name on the waiting list. After a year of waiting, checking on its progress and looking like strange greenery perverts, we phoned up the council. "Oh it's on my to do list" the ever so stressed woman ( ) told us. Hmph. All the clearance (of blackcurrant bushes near the gate, very annoying) and of other random greenery will need to be done again because of this woman's "to do" list. Still, as my mercenary dh put it, "maybe all the people on the waiting list will have popped it by the time she gets round to it and we'll be moved up the list!"
"yum, yum, piggy's bum!"

Have also signed.
Like the one about getting the PM to stand on his head whilst juggling ice cream.

What a wonderful idea, but 789 so far doesn't seem like very many . . .

Done! I know we were gutted when we were told no from the first couple of allotments and were so pleased to be told yes! (We are very lucky to have a few allotments here.) So if it helps others to get their little piece of heaven it's worth it!
