Oh you will find me on all the smallholding/self-sufficiency websites. I love em all!
If I ever won the lottery I would be able to afford a smallholding in Kent. We lived in Beckenham for a while so I know the area. Why don't you move to Lincs? You get more for your money here and it is beautiful!

Afraid with 3 teens relocation is a few years away... not off the agenda though and you do live in a wonderful part of the country

Edited: although, if you and your cooks move to Kent (having won lottery of course) whilst we move to Lincs, I still wont get my hands on one of your beautiful Exchecers (spelling evades me after a few vinos, sorry

I did it (relocated) with my kids. Now 18, 13 and 3.
Are yours doing GCSE's etc or are you just worried about moving schools or them losing touch with friends?
It can still be done, but you have to really want to do it. I have never looked back. I don't regret a thing. In fact I wish I had done it earlier.
Keep an open mind . See you in Lincs soon then?

Mine are 18, 16 and 14 so I'm at various stages; Uni (finishing year 13), (just completed GCSE) 6th former to be and just chosing options time (aaarrrrgggghhhh!!!!).

4 more years and you may be free? Mind you I hate the thought of leaving my kids at uni and moving away. I am an old broody hen myself too!

I know what you mean Naomi - I just love Sunday dinner with them all at the table chatting away. I don't like it when one is away just for one day.

I wont keep them tied to my apron strings though; much as Id like them around every Sunday for life.

Yes being a mum isn't all easy.
One of the hardest bits is letting go.
But the simple fact that they want to come back, is what proves we have done something right!
I miss my eldest when he is away. But I love seeing him happy and if that means he has to do his own thing so be it!
I have really enjoyed bringing up my children and if I was younger or richer I may have had even more.
(At this point my husband is saying "Thank goodness you are too old and poor")!
