The plan is for people to get together and make reusable cloth bags (old duvet covers/curtains etc) in pods (groups), have a brilliant time sewing and chatting, then on a designated date when we've all made plenty, pods hand out the morsbags free to shoppers as they head into supermarkets around the country.
We've worked out that if 20% of the British population (roughly the same number that watched the Celebrity Big Brother final 2007) made 10 bags each and distributed them, then noone in the U.K need accept a plastic bag again!
If we can spread the word we can significantly reduce the number of plastic bags that find their way into the sea and kill marine wildlife (bags are often mistaken for food and then ingested to cause death) and not have to waste time waiting for a plastax or for everyone to buy a reusable bag....www.morsbags.com
Let me know if anyone has any thoughts... thanks
