Hello from South Florida
Hello to all. (Your map is only Europe, or did I not do something right, lol!)
Looks like a wonderful group here. I've been looking for a forum dealing with self-sufficency. My husband and I want to move to Washington state
hopefully by next spring. Am looking for tips on living on our own.
He's an artist, and so our dream is to buy at least 20 acres and start a small art colony. His work is more on the surreal side, and his ideas for the seperate artist's studios are really quite unique!
Here, we are only able to grow planter style garden, with a handful of cherry tomatoes, some chives and (although not suited for this climate) peas-which are my all-time favorite! They are almost ripe now...ummm...can't wait!
Both of us were raised in the country, so the idea of getting back to the green side is quite appealing. Hope we fit in here, and can help (and be helped) by any and all!

Hi Nicci & Gino
I love your username!!
The map is worldwide - you'll need to zoom out and then pick your bit of the US and zoom back in again... or I think you might be able to add via your zipcode.
:welcomeish:

Thanks Shirl, guess I didn't look too closely at the page options
The screen name is actually (almost, except for the word "on") taken from the Japanese sentence"Moon IN the lake", and is said in their language: "Sarusawa".
We used to raise Chow Chows, and decided to name them Asian names. "Saru" was my top blue male chow, so figured to use his English translation as the screen name!
Thanks for the welcome, and thanks for the help with map!

hello there and welcome.
I am sure that you will fit in pretty well here, we are all a pretty decent bunch. Will be good to hear when you reach your dream.

Hello!
We are new to the site too :) Although we are located in France, one of our community members is also an artist from Florida. Coincidence!
Good luck with your move to Washington!
