Anyone know where one can get a hold of baking soda in bulk?

When i was using it for my nappies, I used to be able to get it in bulk from one of two bakeries in the town - and it wasnt badly priced either - try the independent ones before the chains as they seem to be more aimiable.

I also recommended it to all the people I sold nappies too and they didnt have any trouble getting it that way either

Try your farm supplies stores, especially ones that supply to dairy farms. Sometimes it is used as a suppliment to correct acidity in rumanants.

Wouldn't have a clue where was the nearest farm supply store, and our 'bakeries' are rubbish high street ones. (still in the city). Hopefully that helps someone else.

Chemists too a worth a try, good old fashioned cure for indigestion! I've boughts it by the kilo from Lloyds before.

try for it at the places where you buy stuff loose, I forget what the chain is called, but you can buy it by the kilo

I just found it online from a soap making company. So shop around amongst these. I found it for £4.80 for 5kg, pretty good I think. Cheaper if you buy more.

for going down the sink, its Bicarbonate of Soda you want - baking soda has cornflour added to it.

Bicarbonate of soda and baking soda are the same thing.

However! I checked with T**co, and there it's £1.85 p/kg.

The p&p online is painful. Baking soda is just so heavy. So it's either local supermarket or chemist, etc, for true savings.
