What's growing

Post: # 64952Post rmenmuir »

At the moment my veg garden is only 1 metre x 1.5 metres. I've got rocket, french beans, beetroot, chives, spearmint and peppermint, 4 tomato plants and I had one coriander plant until the slugs or snails stripped it bare this week! I've also got lots in pots - 10 tomato plants (Gardener's Delight and a cherry which I can't remember now!), strawberries, and a selection of herbs in various pots.

Tomatoes are growing but not ripening and french beans are cropping now - although the slugs have hammered those too! I wish I could find an effective organic solution to slugs and snails as I've tried everything. I think it's the location of my veg bed which doesn't help as they breed in the privet hedge and under the shed which is next to the bed.

Hopefully, in a couple of months I'll be well into it as we are moving house where there are 2 polytunnels and a greenhouse - whoopee!
