Xarifa. She's a goat. A Rawhiti English Goat, to be exact! Each year, we choose a theme for the naming of the goats, and 2 years ago when she was born, it was characters from Beatrix Potter. We had a lot of girls that year, and Xarifa was the last born, so we were a bit pushed for names we liked. Xarifa, it seems, was the name of a dormouse who was a pet of hers, and of whom she write upon the death of the dormouse:
"'Poor little thing, I thought at one time she would last as long as myself. I believe she was a great age. I wonder if ever another dormouse had so many acquaintances . . . I think she was in many respects the sweetest little animal I ever knew.' When Beatrix wrote The Fairy Caravan, one of the characters she wrote about was a little sleepy dormouse named Xarifa." From Peterrabbit.com
Xarifa is a very sweet goat.

They're not weeds - that's a habitat for wildlife, don't you know?
