it works, and extraordinarily well!!
History was made again today - at a local water festival at Arlington Reservoir, where we were running a display of renewables, the world's first solar powered chai was brewed! - the two in the photograph pronounced it excellent!

More photos and details to follow!

Do you have photos of the kettle itself?
Checked out the website and they seemed to be holding it a bit awkwardly, is it cumbersome?
Fab idea though (looks a bit like one of the tubes from my solar hot water system, same principle?) - very interested in buying one, do you think it´d survive the post to Spain?

it IS a solar tube!
-this is a close-up I took of the top of it this afternoon - looking suspiciously like a glass of guinness!

-this really is very new - some of us have been mucking about with solar tubes, and discovered that you can use them to heat water a la kettle, and even cook with them (a friend has succeeeded in cooking the world's first solar sausage in one!) - our supplier is going to market them as kettles, but I only heard about it on Thursday, so details of packaging and postage prices will follow shortly..........

I believe it will have a lid (or cork!)..........the list of uses grows - someone's succeeded in doing scrambled egg in one, and there's the threat of a curry soon!
And the outside stays completely, uncannily cool!
