Hello Sukes,

I am afraid I do not speak portugese, I tried to translate what you said in google and it came up with "Ola as this? this well! So great which and of its tomatoes? it ties soon! " - which does not really make much sense.

But cheers for posting and I Ã’la to you too, I think, you could be saying something quite rude

Hello

Post: # 7044Post Dear Jane »

I think that I did this backwards, but then I often do! I replied to a post [and sent a recipe] before I introduced myself... I live in West Virginia on top of a hill overlooking the lowest spot in the state-- at the confluence of the Shenandoah and Potomac Rivers, the area that was immortalized in J. Denver's song, Country Roads. Came here from another WV town nearby to take care of my mom 2 years ago. She passed recently, but I decided to stay here because I have put in 2 seasons work in reclaiming her gardens already and I want to see how they turn out, plus I like being able to walk out the front door to a view of mountains every AM. I more or less stay up here on my hill most of the time because the lower town is crowded about 9 months of the year with tourists, not because of the song!, but because there were several battles, occupations, etc. of the American Civil War fought here, unfortunately. Anyhow, the gold fish bowl effect is mostly in the older part of town, near the rivers, and one tries to ignore the gawking as we go about our gardening, hanging up laundry, playing with the kitties and other affairs of daily life here.. We don't grow too much of our food in my little potager, but I especially like to grow and use herbs here, and we also do a lot of volunteer work trying to establish gardens at a living history farm and we get to use much of the produce. My other interest is in cooking, and I've become quite adept at cooking on the hearth in the old log kitchen at the farm. It's nice doing it, because I want to, instead of having to!! The 18th [or any earlier] century is a nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there...

On occasions when I feel I really need some cheering up I do some google automatic translating... Even if you don't know the language you are translating from at all, it's absolutely brilliant. Have spent many hours laughing my head off (and then trying to put it back on   !)

Anyway, I believe Sukes was just saying hi and how are you...
