There's a member here called Gunners who has this strange desire to dig in winter too!!!

I'd rather make mince pies - having spent 3 months last winter digging!

well i went down today not ready for digging but soon. had a chat with friends and a lady on the lottie made me a nice boozy christmas cake 9inch and i gave her a tenner seems fair and a good deal.sealed it up.
anyway i was walking near the allotments someone dumped some old wood do as posts so i have put them in my shed its getting ilke a timber yard well when i get all me bean sticks out etc. iwill get an airtight container and keep pop crisps and sweets there yumm sugar surge,yes milly love me digging IM MAD AND BAD OH YEAH.[/i]

yeah, digging is good for you! even though you feel like a pensioner afterward.
i think with the new garden its gonna be trial and error for a while with me cuz im new at this. never had a garden good enough for growing anything but brambles and nettles. hmmm. but its soon becoming an obsession. i think ill have to wait till bird flu blows over till i get any chickens! ah well so it is!

the digging in hard work - don't you justlove thatfeeling when you ry to stand up and it doesn't happen! ouch
I'm slowly stealing my lawn back - isn't grass tough!
have fun with your spade - years ago a friend had a "dig a pond party" she invited all her mates round with their spades - and gave them food (bbq) and drink in return - all were very tired but had fun - and she got a huge pond dug for free in a day
