personally, i have a passion for mustard on toast, which beats marmite or peanut butter by a long way. :wink:

In times of financial shortcomings I found that tomato paste made a cheap and tasty spread, too...

Hello Tone. What sort of mustard do you mean? Personally I find that vivid yellow Colemans stuff revolting, but some of the wholegrain mustards are much more paletable. But it takes a lot to beat Marmite.

peanut butter ,chedder cheese and lettuce sandwiches was my son's staple diet each day at school.
As my marmite jar is nearing the empty stage ,I fill it with nearly boilig water, put the lid back on and leave it til I need it for stock or casserole...I didn't know bovril was veggie...I always avoid it because I thought it was made from meat
