Amazon isn't cheap for me, by the time they add on VAT for France, loads of P&P and then add on some more which they shouldn't but isn't explained.
I've just ordered some books for Xmas pressies and I'm really pissed off with them with all the extras they added on, that I didn't know about until I had actually finished the ordering process.
I would like to buy direct from the site and I definitely want a signed copy!

M3 - Do you buy from amazon.fr ? they have quite a selection of books in English - might be cheaper than buying from british websites
re. independent bookshops, I know of some who do their ordering through amazon - ie. you ask for the book in the shop, they order it online, you pick up from the shop 3 days later at full RRP. A tad cheeky, don't you think.

C'mon, even my french is just about good enough to manage the french amazon I avoid the non-amazon sellers, I prefer to go to e-bay if I want a second hand books.
I was trying to find good french kids books (really basic, repetative toddler stories) for E but I had problem when it came to delivery charges... plus it is a bit of a gamble buying books when you can't browse.
Sorry, I've gone off at a tangent.
Anyways, I am sure you'll manage to convince Andy to sell you a copy direct

It isn't the language - that's not a problem. The reasons above are what I don't understand. Anyway they didn't have what I wanted!Annpan wrote:C'mon, even my french is just about good enough to manage the french amazon I avoid the non-amazon sellers, I prefer to go to e-bay if I want a second hand books.
