Yogurt is sooo easy!

You all seem to be such proficient chefs. Well here is a place to share some of that cooking knowledge. Or do you have a cooking problem? Ask away. Jams and chutneys go here too.

I made my first yogurt!!! It came out very runny, I guess its "drinkable yogurt". It took a lot longer than 10 hours, I'm guessing the place I had it in was too cold. I was somewhat restricted in the locations I could use, as I had to keep it covert, if my parents found it they'd throw it out without hesitating.

Stealth-sufficiency :)

Anyway, it made a yummy drink mixed with a little buckwheat honey!

I'm going to try a second batch today using fresh instead of Longlife milk. I used an upright jug last time so will try a flatter container this time and see if it is less runny ........

and the result was really good - much thicker this time :cooldude:

it was so easy - and so creamy and delicious too!
going to do that again! - I used fresh whole milk plus skimmed milk powder.
I understand it works best with homogenised milk, or goat or sheep which is naturally homogenised, but I am going to experiement with different milks etc and see which is nicest.
and I am going to buy a flask so I can make it in summer when the rayburn is out.
