Hello from Finland !
Hi all,
I found your website while I was looking for something I had seen in that British TV-Show "Outragous Wasters". I didn't find what I was looking for, but I tought that your forum is very interesting.
I am certainly not what you call " self-sufficient 'ish' ". I am working for salary and I am living in a rented place.
Anyway, I want to learn about energy saving, waste saving and I am interested in organic products and in gardening too.

Hiya Jackie, and welcome to the Ishers! Don't worry - most of us need to work for a salalry to pay the bills... ANd it's amazing what you can do to be more SSish in a rented flat: start with growing herbs in a poit on a windowsill, maybe?Jackie wrote: PS: Wombats are my absolute favourite living creatures!
Anyway, as to wombats: Do you know the brilliant picture book "Diary of a Wombat"? (I think I reviewed it once in the appropriate section.) My favourite picture book!

Hi Jackie! Welcome to the forum. Don't worry, I have to work for a living and live in a rented place too! (At the moment....)
Where abouts in Finland do you live? I visited a few years ago and absolutely loved it. It's definitely one of my favourite countries.

They're not weeds - that's a habitat for wildlife, don't you know?

Sure, I am growing herbs in summer. In winter we don't have enough light. Herbs don't like it.ina wrote: start with growing herbs in a poit on a windowsill, maybe?

How cool is that!! I didn't know it. I just looked it up on Amazon bookshop.ina wrote: Do you know the brilliant picture book "Diary of a Wombat"? (I think I reviewed it once in the appropriate section.) My favourite picture book!

Oh that's nice to hear. Where did you visit? I live 50 km north of Helsinki, but summer vacation I like to spend up north (motorhome).hamster wrote:Where abouts in Finland do you live? I visited a few years ago and absolutely loved it. It's definitely one of my favourite countries
