pancake day

You all seem to be such proficient chefs. Well here is a place to share some of that cooking knowledge. Or do you have a cooking problem? Ask away. Jams and chutneys go here too.

Banana, choc spread, whipped cream and honey........drool!
Let us be lovely
And let us be kind
Let us be silly and free
It won't make us famous
It won't make us rich
But damn it how happy we'll be!

lemon and sugar
goat cheese and marmalade
sausage and apple sauce

still some left (probly for my lunch tomorrow :snorting: )

I was confused today by a workmate telling me I could 'buy' two packs of eight pancakes from the local supermart for only two pounds  now why on earth would I want to do that when I have the makings already????!!!!

We bought some at uni one year, as my friend had a microwave we could do them in, but we didn't have any kitchens to make our own. They weren't very nice....

We had savoury pancakes for dinner - sprouting broccoli and blue cheese sauce - then a small lemon and sugar one when I got back from dressmaking. Feel absolutely stuffed now!!!
They're not weeds - that's a habitat for wildlife, don't you know?

had some with maple syrup earlier. Didn't do them just because it was pancake day though... we often eat them.

I only found out it was pancake day from another forum yesterday morning. My calendars tell me it was Constitution Day in Mexico yesterday and today is Waitangi Day but nowt 'bout Pancakes!

We had them with Golden Syrup and lemon. Yummy. I wish I had made double the amount though!

I had my stranded brothers and sister with me for pancake day so I made a huge batch because they are flipping gannets.
we had a selection fo toppings on the table, my favorite is just melted butter.
I don't tend to do savoury ones that much. When I do I like them filled with a "spagbol" style sauce, rolled, placed in a greased oven dish, topped with bechemel and grated sheese then grilled. like caneloni only...not.
oh how I love my tea, tea in the afternoon. I can't do without it, and I think I'll have another cup very
ve-he-he-he-heryyyyyyy soooooooooooon!!!!

It is the name we heathens give to 'Shrove Tuesday' - The day before Ash Wednesday...

Pancakes are eaten

Something to do with using up all your goodies before the fasting in Lent begins - I have never actually known any Christian to fast for lent, but there we go :?

As a recovering Catholic, I'm quite familiar with the regular feast days, but now a pagan Unitarian, I'm surprised I'd never heard of it!

Anyway, sounds like a good excuse to eat pancakes.

Cheers
