Building on brownfield sites does not suit all developers due to the high costs of clearing contaminated land, unless it's next to a river or lake maybe. The irony is, the influx of cheap labour into the country, all in need of housing. The middle classes have raised few objections so far, their main concern is hiring a cheap plumber or a "woman that does", not untill their jobs are under threat they will do very little.

As far as "New Labour" is concerned, I feel uncomfortable with CBI friendships/peerages. Ten years of a shameless lurch to the right!
too many interests, not enough cash.
