I can walk! I can walk! I can walk!!!!
Last summer I suffered a kidney infection, which, by the time it was
brought under control, had spread to and destroyed the muscles in my
lower back. I've been in a wheelchair since then.
While I have been doing therapy to try and rebuild those muscles,
progress has been incredibly slow. Until yesterday. I got up in the
morning, waited for the sledgehammer to hit . . . and waited . . . and
waited . . .
It never hit. I was able to get around the house mostly without pain.
If I stood for too long it would start to hurt, but it was more of a
"seriously overdid it at the gym" type of pain, rather than the "being
beaten with a sledgehammer" that I had been experiencing for almost 8
months now.
I'll probably use the wheelchair for a bit longer until I get more of
my strength back, but for now, I'M MOBILE AGAIN!!!!!!!!
*does happy dance*

well done! It's things like walking that you never appreciate until you lose the ability to do them!
