I just started making risotto in mine and it turns out so creamy and evenly cooked - thanks to Madhur Jaffrey for that one!

Hi Im new on here, but would like to say I have used a pressure cooker for the last 32 years and would not be without one. It is great for making stews etc. And our gas consumption went down as it is so quick. I think once you start using one it would be very hard to go back to pans steaming for hours on end or the oven on for hours. Happy cooking

The pressure cooker was always an essential piece of equipment for camping holidays. Used to bung everything in and wait for half an hour. The stews were always good - or maybe that was just because the wine had kicked in by then!
I must admit that I haven't used it so much for pressure cooking recently because I have a tower steamer. I do use it to cook rice (without the pressure bit attached) because the base is so thick. With the cost of fuel the way it is - I think I'll start using it again for soups & stews although, because my cooker is aluminium, probably won't use any acidic veggies like tomatoes or spinach in it.
