Hello from Wales

Post: # 91903Post GingerKatieSparkles »

Hi, just been having a browse and I've got lots of questions so thought I'd better introduce myself before diving in!

I'm Katie, very nearly 30, me, dh and our two little girls (23 months and 10 months) have recently moved to an old farmhouse in mid-Wales with 8 acres of land (mostly fields we'll let out for sheep atm) and a big veg patch. We have lots of plans and lots of books but frankly no experience - last summer I planted tomatoes (with a newborn strapped to my front and an excitable toddler, that was a fun afternoon!), then it rained for several months and we ended up with 4 tiny tiddlers.... so self sufficiency may be a way off yet!

Currently struggling with trying to get the veg patch in some sort of shape so I can actually use it and being a bit stymied by the weather as I need dh to look after the kids to get much done - the toddler would love to help out but it's a death trap up there so she can't play and just comes after me trampling on everything I've planted and moaning...

Interested in no-dig, permaculture, home edding the kids a little way down the line, and generally making life as easy for myself as possible by 'working with' not 'doing to' in pretty much everything...

So that's me! But now I have no time to ask anything

Katie xx

Hiya Katie, welcome to the world of Ish!

My tomatoes didn't produce anything either - and that was in the polytunnel...

So don't give up.
