Wait until they sick their heads through the compost (which won't be tomorrow morning, but I assure you that you WILL look

Make sure they get some warmth - chilli's need a bit of heat to germinate.

Kitchen windowsill best place for them if its as chilly where you are as it is in London!
I know how you feel. I have been growing for years now but yesterday I planted some more stuff in the greenhouse and as soon as I got out of bed this morning I made a cup of tea, put on shoes and ran down to check all okay. My partner thinks this is hilarious as he thinks I'm expecting shoots already. Seriously, the joy you get when the little shoots appear is like nothing else. The next joy is when you can eat the stuff!

I know how you feel Mrs Slocombe, I get very excited when the seeds I sow finally show their heads.
The other weekend I came running in all excited because my spring onions were just coming through! My OH was sitting watching the footy with a beer and kind of shook his head and gave me a quizzical look! But I do go out each morning with my first cuppa of the day and survey my little darlings!

my chilies moved along fairly quickly... i made a cheap heated propigator-used a prop that i got for £3, drilled a whole in the side of it and put the wire to an old snake heat pad(the blighter escaped and never came back
) then reattached the plug to the wire. it seems to get most things off to a flying start! it is very small though so only 3-4pots at once!! maybe you could pick up a reptile heat pad cheap from ebay or a bootfair??
go chillies go!!!!

go chillies go!!!!
