Mmmmmm, new book smell......
As a child I had a paperback copy of the hobbit which my daughters then read and re-read. Recently my daughter, now married, who'd borrowed it again, replaced it with a new copy because she felt she had worn out my old one. In fiction, at least, removal of the dustwrapper can half the re-sale value of the book. Collectors like to buy old books in as close to the condition when they were new as possible. Even a tatty dustwrapper is better than no dustwrapper at all!

Fair enough, I hope it saves you what you spent on it. We wanted it to be cheaper but the publishers had other ideas. Anyway, might have to try and arrange a meet up signing day at some point, in the midlands could have a forage too.Ratty wrote:My copy arrived todayJust wish it was a signed one but finances are tight & I used an Amazon voucher.
I'm in Nottingham! Sounds great! Soon, please, soon!Ratty wrote: I wanted to suggest a Midlands meet-up as there seems to be a few people on here who are either in Leics, Notts or Derbyshire. I'd be happy to host one in my back garden here in Nottingham and always welcome an opportunity to forage too!
