Hi Shirlz

I'm a chocoholic - can go for months without but once I fall off the wagon -that's it. Eat every choc in sight. Surviving just on wine tonight. Ho Hum.

Fair Trade Choc is supposed to be OK too.

I can relate to this 100%.

People tell me it's mainly a girly thing, so I like to think it's evidence that I'm a post-modern reconstructed man who is in touch with his feminine side. Yin and yang, you know.

Please - can it be a crime to mention Christmas until December?? lol....

Eat choc whenever you want - it's better for you that way - and don't forget, it makes you feel happy (until you stand on the scales after a couple of days chocolate binging)

What worries me is a Study done in your neck of the woods, Glasgow University I believe, that out of a number of 'Organic' Soya products purchased at local stores, very few of them, if any, were found to be organic!
Lanie, do you know more about this study? Would like to know how they came to that conclusion... Whether they found GM in the products, or pesticide residue. (Both is possible in spite of organic growing methods, through contaminated seed or contamination through neighbouring, non-organic crops.) I tend not to buy soya products very often - don't really like them anyway.

And how did we get from hemp to chocolates??? Stop talking about that, PLEEEAAAAAASE...

Actually, I think it's not just girls who go for the chocs - but it's mainly girls who admit to it! Which just proves what you say: Your feminine side allows you to say what you really like...

Well, I'd like to say dark, refined and Belgian, but in reality any old crap that's on the supermarket shelf and available in packs of ten. No standards, me.

As long as it's the right colour and melts at body temperature.

Ina

Sorry - I don't know any more about the study. It was an item that appeared on BBC Breakfast News some time last year I think. Am 90% sure it was done by Glasgow University.

We got onto the subject of Chocolate via pesticides. As Cocoa is sprayed with Lindane; we girls should be very afraid - and big chested blokes!
Organic Choc or Fair Trade is, apparently, safe to eat.

Promise not to mention the 'C' word again lest I be hung, drawn and quartered - especially as I am a firm believer in the 12 days of 'C' and not the 3 months!

Cheers - I'll try and find out more.

When you said the "c" word - I thought at first you meant chocolate! But then - the 12 days of chocolate? That would be a bit said!

Otherwise I fully agree!
