A jolly little nibble is wood sorrel, although somewhat fiddly to harvest in any decent amount. I've also been known to chuck it into a wild leaf salad at this time of year.
It's also high in Oxalic acid, so large amounts as far as I remember are hard on the liver, and are certainly bad for those with a tendancy to Gout or Rheumatism.
But it's a lovely bright spring taste in moderation.
there was LOADS of this in the lake district last week, although for me it didn't seem anything as good as the usual sorrel we found in the hedgerows, but that was only from tasting both together, I bet it would be good in a salad.
