101 uses for an old/scratched/promo cd
1. thread onto string and use as a bird scarer
2. cut (carefully - as they are very sharp when cut) in half and use as a trendy border for a teenagers bedroom.

So that would make us ready for:
8. Bookends. Some CDs can be gently bent round 90 degrees in the middle, making a reasonable bookend for small items. A little bit of heat can help the process, as they're only plastic with a thin foil of metal in the middle. However be careful and protect your eyes, as they can shatter quite dramatically.
9. Protect your eyes and bend vigourously for some simple destructive entertainment (the ones that fail to be any fun will probably work as bookends
).
