Berkshire weaners - NE Scotland

Post: # 161576Post Stonehead »

Due to various customers cancelling (yes, again), we have a litter of 11 Berkshire pigs for sale.

There are both gilts and boars, the litter is birth notified and the pork will be eligible to be labelled as Pedigree Pork if sold to the public. The piglets were weaned at eight weeks, wormed at nine weeks and will be ready for collection from Saturday.

Our pigs are reared outdoors, are electric fence trained, and are bred from pedigree stock with excellent temperaments.

Berkshires make excellent pork. We kill ours at 28 weeks when they're around 80kg liveweight, which products 40-50kg of joints, chops, and other cuts.

We're just outside Insch, Aberdeenshire. Background information on us and our pigs can be found at http://stonehead.wordpress.com/pigs/

Due to the failure of numerous "customers" to actually collect their pigs, we have 14 birth-notified Berkshire weaners that we need to move on urgently. Nine were farrowed on 21 May 2009 and five on 27 June 2009. All are ready to go now. The older ones could be finished in time for Christmas. Any reasonable offers considered. All must go by September 5.
