I have lots of fruit and would like to have a crack at making some wine! (mmmm yummy vino)
Anyone have anyspare demijons in the berkshire or surrey area? am happy to pay a bit (or donate a bottle of successful plonk after bottling) but they are £7 each (cheapest I have found) around here so thought it was worth asking.
Cheers

If you can't sort that out with pumpy, have a look in your local charity shops. I've got about a dozen over the last few months for between £1.50 and £2 a piece.

Freecycle is often a good source!

Never give a food animal a name, its not nice to eat a friend!

Hmmm, Norfolk is a little far unfortunately. Though if am around that area any time soon I will certainly give you a bell (message). Thank you for the offer though!
I will try freecycle and charity shops tho the former tends to go by the time I phone up (doh) and the latter I have not found to be a bit poor quality in reading. I will keep trying. Visiting Bristol soon so will try there too..

If you have enough raw materials, don't waste your time with demijohns - too small, awkward to clean etc - just use a 5-gallon plastic brewing bucket with lid and airlock - a bigger thermal mass makes your brews more reliable.
Brew in quantity, but first you will need to drink 5 gallons of wine and save the bottles... you know it makes sense.
