Re: How to forage a first aid kit and survive a terrorist attack
I'm horrified and wondering whether to end my link with the forum.
Firstly I have lived all my active life in the territory of IRA terrorist attacks on mainland UK and have been near their bomb explosions 3 times. You must keep the scale of the treat in perspective. More people were killed in train crashes at that time.
Which leads me to the next point. People must continue there lives without fear or else they are allowing the terrorist to achieve their goal. Which is then my final point. You are sinkenly encouraging people to survive at the expense of others which is the disintegration of any society that is worth being part of and totally aligning yourself with the terrorists.
Cheap writting Andy - be ashamed

Is this a joke?
Quote: You should also try to ensure that plenty of people are in between you and danger. It may sound heartless, but this is a heartless situation. Positioning yourself behind people you don’t particularly like may help you see the silver lining.
I imagine some people would actually try to help others.

Well of COURSE it's a joke - try stuffing an NBC suit into a desk drawer if you think it was serious. Of course, it isn't as funny as Andy's face would have been when he discovered he'd mis-spelled comfrey. Now that I'd like to have seen

I can't see a mis-spelling of comfrey?
The other article is obviously a joke one.
Good TV link, I have that white yarrow as a weed in my lawn. I'd always thought of Yarrow as a yellow flowered plant. So now I just need to cut myself to try it out.

Come off it guys!
Satire is a very powerful weapon in the hands of a good writter. This is not funny or clever or well written.
Its crap!
There is no credible substance to the core of this article - thats why it doesn't work. The content is incorrect so the black humour doesn't work either.
You think "oh its Andy" therefore it must be funny, but I showed it to others that don't know who he is and they say - its crap.
Also note that Andy himself has not responded to this thread.
I now know what "ish" is short for "foolish"
bye folks

It's in the video - one of the screens where the herb names come up for a couple of seconds.Millymollymandy wrote:I can't see a mis-spelling of comfrey?![]()

It is a joke, Healer - but not one of his best, agreed. However, I don't think Andy would intentionally ruffle anyone's feathers too much so I'm prepared to give him some slack and put it down as a misfire. And, in fact, it is perfectly accurate in its irony - as anyone who's old enough to have read "Protect and Survive", the official government guidelines on how to survive a nuclear attack, would testify. And that one was never intended to be a joke.healer wrote:Come off it guys!

Yeah, I discovered that later when I watched the video through! But is it his fault though or whoever made the video or the editing team of the website it was published in. I would suggest the latter!MKG wrote:It's in the video - one of the screens where the herb names come up for a couple of seconds.Millymollymandy wrote:I can't see a mis-spelling of comfrey?![]()

I don't like it either - not clear enough that it's a joke, because it's not funny or well written. But ish doesn't mean foolish, there's no need to leave the forum because it's nothing to do with the forum.healer wrote:Come off it guys!

Re: How to forage a first aid kit and survive a terrorist attack
I really can't see the problem. O.K. so it's not particularly funny, but then it's obviously a jokey thing........ mind you, avoiding Basra is very good advice! Maybe people need to "chill out" a little bit in-stead of getting wound-up about something so pointless.

it's either one or the other, or neither of the two.
