Have you made something and want to show it off? This is the place for your photos or just talk about the things that you have made or would like to make. All crafts from knitting and crochet to woodwork, in fact anything that you have made!
I never know whether posts like this belong in the recycle section or this one... Just something I found today that I think is a great way to recycle old towels:
I never have old towels as good as that! When they get too tatty for humans they get demoted to dog towels...till they fall apart. (The towels, not the dogs, obviously) Then they get burnt.
Incidentally I've just passed the last 'nappy' towel onto the dogs. These towels were both daughters' nappies before being boiled & dyed to become hand towels. (Youngest is 18 next month)
I'm ignoring the glue part and using old old old towels - if you're covering them, they don't need to be in that good condition! I've got rags coming out of my ears so I'm pleased with this idea
I have a couple of spare single duvets that I use with the fold up beds when I have extra guests. Most of the time they are just taking up space. I roll them up very tight and pop each one inside a pillowcase to make lovely big bolster cushions.
One of my to-do jobs is to make proper covers for them.
when my bath towels have given there all, i cut them into square shapes and zig-zag the edges, then i have plenty of small towels to use in the kitchen instead of paper towels. you can sew two together and with a little stuffing and some quilting stiches make pot holders.
WHEN MY IRISH EYES ARE SMILING I'M USUALLY UP TO SOMETHING!!!
NEVER REGRET THAT WHICH ONCE MADE YOU SMILE.
omg! that's what I used to stuff my draught excluder!!! I made it from the arms of a felted jumper, and stuffed it with scrabby (but clean) old towels!!
oh how I love my tea, tea in the afternoon. I can't do without it, and I think I'll have another cup very
ve-he-he-he-heryyyyyyy soooooooooooon!!!!
