Turbo cider video

Post: # 194050Post JayBee »

If anyone is interested in making cider in a week then have a look at the video I produced.

http://www.ecopunk.org.uk/2009/01/turbo ... -last.html

I usually make one 4 litre batch, drink some as still cloudy cider and bottle the rest with a little sugar to make clear sparkling cider.

Good video James. :thumbright: You'd better get the next installment done though, otherwise there'll be a few of us with cider left in the cupboard not knowing what to do next

Thank you. There is a part two in the making but it doesn't include me getting, as the Fast Show character might say, "very very drunk."

Part two was about racking off to make sparkling cider but I missed a shot.

Now that I am settled in Spain I will review the material I have and put out the second video as is.

Great James - I'm going to have a go at that!

I saw a post on your blog about adding some tea and something else (I think - I read it the other day when I watched part 1). Should I use them?

I have never tried tea myself. The reasoning is that it is a source of tanning.

For a turbo cider, I wouldn't bother.

If you are harvesting apples and pressing them then you could add a few crab apples.

But, homebrewing is nothing if it is not an experiment so if you have spare juice then you can see what effect tea has... and let me know.
