hello from sligo!

Post: # 202479Post irishwillow »

I live in rural eire just quartr mile from the atlantic coast and all its rain and wind<you wouldnt believe it outside tonight!> I moved here from england 7 yrs ago to try amd live the simple life! all went well till 5 yrs ago when I developed rh athritis, was very ill for a couple of years but now I have adjusted well and have more good days then bad  anyway you get used to pain and live with it, frustrating that I cant whack a nail in now etc etc but I am lucky as have my little long house, my animals and my garden! I have 7 acres, mainly pasture for my rescue mares, brought over from england.I also have 3 dogs 1 elderly cat and 2 hens! My garden is on a reclaimed acre garden field, slowly but surely being converted with help from the girls muckheap!
So life is very good!! I can recommend eire..I have the beach for seaweed, the river and mountains all within easy distance.
There are plenty of little smallholdings here to buy or rent.

Hi irishwillow and welcome to Ish

We're getting plenty of rain too - yesterday was the first full day we've had in the garden since May, I think - the rain seems to fall mainly at weekends

Haloo again! Would you like some of our wind to blow your rain away?
Let us be lovely
And let us be kind
Let us be silly and free
It won't make us famous
It won't make us rich
But damn it how happy we'll be!

Hello from New Zealand, sounds like paradise even with the weater, here redtape has gotten so bad you can't sell a jar of jam unless its made in a licenced kitchen. sometimes I wish I had the funds to move my family to england or wales, I know no country is perfect, but paradise New Zealand is being destroyed by the politicians
Our remote ancestors said to their mother Earth, "We are yours."
Modern humanity has said to Nature, "You are mine."
The Green Man has returned as the living face of the whole earth so that through his mouth we may say to the universe, "We are one."

hello there ,

We lived in Sligo for nearly 4 years , had a lot of bad luck .2 car accidents caused by others , TBC and a crap Sligo hospideal
system, nearly killed the wife , a sick mentallaty at the primary school , and then the locals who did not always
appriciate foreigners , hope you do better and have more luck ,it is a great scenery and country to live in
Shame the former Celtic tiger spoiled things ,by the way we lived near Ballymote , Keash ,

regards ,

Paul
