Hi guys i'm just double checking are these young chanterelle's, i picked them from my local beech/birch wood this morning :flower:

I would say no as chanterelle's gills are not so long and their colour is the same than the "hat" colour. Just google chanterelle for images and you will see what I mean.
Having looked at my books, these mushrooms look like common yellow russulas or common funnel caps, but as I have never picked those I cannot say for sure. While I have picked chanterelles a fair few times, but not in this country.

No. They do look like some sort of russula though. Possibly the "common yellow" type... If you look in the mushroomy bit of the forum and search for my posts i've posted a couple of photos of chanterelles. The baby ones are really very small, maybe only a centimetre across and look kinda of like wee bits of yellow popcorn.
