Hello from Somerset

Post: # 24191Post Breeze »

Hi I live in Theale, oposite the Mendips, in cider country. I'm a SAHM of 7, although the eldest has moved out. We have started growing our own veg and I'm hoping to get some chickens soon.

Cider Making

Post: # 25865Post genie »

I tried some of Andys Home brew!!

Im not much of a drinker, although I will try any alcohol out of curiosity.

i have sampled a couple of Andys brews this past couple of years, reluctantly i try some, and I am always surprised and impressed by how good it tastes!! I guess memories of trying my dads home brew when I was a kid put me off a bit.

I have tried an elderflower champagne?? and I tried some of andys cider a few days ago!!

Hi Breeze! Get those chooks in, you won't regret it. Provided you can contain their scratching, output-for-effort wise it's the easiest bit of SS you can do.

Ummm... we haven't made cider... disgraceful... BUT we are drinking cider.. so that's ok... (but from Herefordshire rather than West country oops)

Pretty damned good too - £6.99 for 3 litres of organic cider.

Welcome Breeze - its a pukka site with lovely people!!

I have looked at SAHM for ages now and still cant work out what it stands for :? - (my excuse is that I was up all night with my 5 year old who has gastroenteritus for the 2nd time in 3 weeks, so bit knackered!!)
