I was out collecting hawthorn berries today to try out the hawthorn ketchup recipe
I'm not used to this sort of thing so I wanted to check that there's no poisonous berries that look like hawthorns that I might have got confused with?

Re: hawthorn berries/ketchup
Can't think of anything - hawthorn is a member of the rose family and I don't think there are any closely related poisonous species.

Re: hawthorn berries/ketchup
I spent ages making haw berry ketchup a few years ago....let's just say i found it to be an acquired taste. The bottles ended up being gifts to anyone who would have them. Hope yours turn out to taste better.
