Looking for a butter churn

Post: # 30394Post Tracey Smith »

Hi all - wonder if you can help.

I am looking for a butter churn and having no luck!

I'd like one that you can operate by hand, not electric. It can be old or new, not worried, but must be in good working order. Something that can take a good few pints too would be fantastic.

If you have one gathering dust somewhere, please drop me a note!

Thanks!

Sorry Tracey, I can't help - try eBay / freecycle - or a salvage yard which often have old farm equipment.

making butter? (how did I deduce that...?!) Good luck and let us know how is goes - I remember watching butter being made at a farm near to where I grew up (Hereford) - a real skill and a wonderful flavour.

Hi Hannah,

I am on the case with Ebay and good old Freecycle. It's just one of those things I reckon someone might have lurking about with an inch of dust on it under the stairs!

I think you can do it just by shaking in a big container with a good lid, of it can be done with a food mixer, if you're prepared to use electric at all
