Hello all,

Have been watching you for some time now and finally plucked up courage to come into the water.

My self sufficient efforts mainly revolve around growing things, plant things, to eat and I do it on a farm in Normandy but sadly I'm not resident there all the time yet so I also have a 'town' garden in the Midlands.

We're vegan, but not aggressively so. Just at the moment my interest is being grabbed by solar cooking and cookers; I've seen pictures of a wonderful construction called a Parvati Solar cooker which I'm going to research. Has anyone tried one of these?

I have built a solar oven and yet to test it. I am going to build a few over the coming months and road test them. So will keep you informed.

Thank you all for your welcomes.

Those links look useful, thanks also for those. When I've built one I'll take pictures to show and give you my results but after a fantastic Easter break where we had hot sun every day for a week in France the weather has become exceedingly cloudy and gray. Might be a while before I can make dinner.
