Hi, I have just joined this forum and wanted to thank the web site owners for mentioning us flat dwellers. I have been a flat dweller for many years and its refreshing to see us urban flat dwellers without gardens/windowbox possibilities acknowledged!
I cannot afford to not be a flat dweller due to financial constraint, and I do believe we don't have enough land in England for us all to move out of our flats or England would turn into a huge metropolis with suburbs!
I did try saving kitchen scraps for a friend with a compost bin but the container attracted a lot of flies and they took over my flat and colonised my house plants!
I grow my own mustard and cress and sometimes sprouts, and I cook my own food, often from vegetables that friends have grown. I also gather some wild plants when on country visits.
I have put a link to the web site from my own one.

G'DAy Herbwormwood!
It's good that you are having a go, even in a flat. My brother had a flat and used to grow all sorts of stuff. Depending on the orientation of your flat (and space), you can grow all sorts of things.
