Re: Can anyone ID these 'bantam' chicks

They look like rather fine Gold-pencilled Hamburgs to me. The colouring can vary on them as a breed but they look pretty close to the ones on here: http://rosiesrarebreedpoultry.weebly.com/gold-pencilled-hamburg.html With a bit of luck we'll be getting some Silver Spangled Hamburgs in a week or so, ...

DS (6 YO) loves dragons, so any good dragon books anyone can suggest would be appreciated. Hmmm, sounds familiar! Try these; The Disasters of Dragons and Other Fiery Fiascos http://www.amazon.co.uk/Disasters-Dragons-Other-Fiery-Fiascos/dp/1843220431/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=gateway&qid=1200662530&sr=8-...

There have been a variety of best and worst toys for my boys, dependent on their ages at any time. Best - construction toys always seem to be top of the list in some form or another. Wooden bricks and other shapes still come out to build bizarre constructions for cars to drive through/aeroplanes to ...

Oooo! You can get solar powered ones? Where does I get one, I mean, do I get one. I bought DH a solar powered multi charger for Christmas from Oxfam (new) It was a bit pricey but will charge his ipod and the kids' newly acquired DS's too. Oh, and if it's not sunny it can be plugged into th...

Reconstructed clothing

I don't know what I do to my jeans, but I always wear through the right knee (always the right!) in less then three months flat. Anyway, I had a bit of a brainstorm earlier and turned a pair of jeans and scraps from a dress I wore to a wedding back in 1995 into a rather funky skirt! I'm quite...

What do you fancy Ina? A basic point and press, an slr with changeable lenses or something a bit in the middle? The budget going to depend on what you want. I've got a pretty good Olympus point and press with a bit of a zoom and a Nikon D40 SLR which is a pretty good entry level SLR. For something i...

If you measure out a metre of fabric, normally it would be cut into quarters at 25cm intervals down the length of the fabric, leaving you with long thin strips. A fat quarter (normally cut like this for quilting) is cut like you would cut a round of bread into quarters, with one horizontal and one v...

Mmmmm, dandelion coffee is on my list of 'to-do's' for this year. I've had a look around and as well as the seeds on ebay, someone is selling 15cm plants which might be worth a try I guess. Looks like indoors will be the way to go if i do get some. There seems to be a dwarf variety of arabica availa...
