Now I find out!!! I've been making and drinking wurzel for years.
PBF - dissolve sugar in a bit of water, stick all the ingredients in a demijohn, add sugary liquid, top up to a gallon with water, add yeast. Simples!
I just checked what I made the last lot with and it turns out to be apple and raspberry. Such is life. Oh - check the juice contents. Some have artificial sweeteners. It all still works, but it's never going to taste absolutely dry.
