I'm miserable when I'm cold, so this year I'm going to spend some of my hard earned cash and be prepared for winter, and I'm damn well going to enjoy it!! I'm thinking non slip boots, vast woolly jumpers (usually plenty in the charity shop), fleece throws to snuggle up in on the sofa, getting the ch...

I'm impressed that you have enough rocket for soup, pesto, and still some left to freeze! I'm hovering over mine waiting for it to produce enough for a salad. Anyway, this link says you can freeze rocket, and there are some recipe ideas as well: http://www.hauntedfish.co.uk/~food/vegetables/rocket.htm

Hi all, thanks for the warm welcome! The website for the place I work is www.classictractors.co.uk - and yes, there are a couple of books on the Fergi 20, and workshop manuals/operators books too. (We are very popular with partners of tractor enthusiasts when Christmas/birthdays come around!) I'll h...

Has anyone tried slug-x? I've been looking on t'internet for slug remedies and this seems to be just a posh sort of beer trap, yet it has very good reviews. I'm just not sure whether beer traps attract all the slugs from my neighbours' gardens as well, once they hear about the party at our place....

I got the four foot square one (it isn't shown on the website but is in the paper catalogue as a 'square foot garden'). I think it's great; I've got all sorts in it. Early days yet but all looking very promising. I stuck copper tape all round it to (hopefully) stop the slugs invading, and that seems...

Hi Ina Working in a bookshop was always one of my dream jobs; but this is a very niche market sort of book company, selling books about tractors, agricultural machinery, heavy haulage, that kind of thing.......try as I might, I can't work up any enthusiasm for the products we sell! How would you lik...

Hello everybody, I'm Janet and I live near Driffield in East Yorkshire, just added myself to your map but looks like I'm the only isher for miles around (was it something I said?) I'm growing lots of veggies, at least as many as I can fit in my tiny garden which is mostly paved! I've got about 8' x ...
